Concentrated Nutrition – 225 Litres per tub!
S-Chelate 12 Star is a highly concentrated fertiliser. Each 500 gram tub produces 225 litres of high strength liquid fertiliser for use outdoors on vegetables, fruits and decorative plants. Can also be used on houseplants, cacti and succulents.
Use 2 x 5ml scoops (scoop provided in tub) to a 4.5 litre watering can for general feeding of established plants. Use half a scoop, 2.5ml, per litre for indoor use.
Fertigation
S-Chelate 12 Star is ideal for fertigation – irrigating with water containing feed. Perfect for wicking pot systems like Quadgrows and Hozelock Growbag Waterer and continuous feed hydroponic systems like Easy Grow and Autopot. Because this fertiliser is so concentrated, it should be initially mixed to a lower strength for fertigation, producing over 400 litres per tub.
Use 1 x 5ml scoop per 4.5 litre watering can when topping up the water / nutrient solution. With established plants growing quickly and tomatoes after the third truss has set, increase to 7.5ml or 10ml (2 scoops) per 4.5 litre can.
Superior to Binary Fertilisers
Similar high-strength fertilisers always come in two parts. The first part is mixed with the second at time of use. However, incorrect mixing, pH levels out of range and storage conditions can quickly cause chemical reactions. These problems reduce the effectiveness of those fertilisers.
S-Chelate 12 Star is produced to the highest standards in the UK using propriety chelation technology. This means the fertiliser is stable and tolerant to a range of pH levels and storage conditions as well as easier to make up in the first place.
Environment
S-Chelate 12 Star is supplied as a powder in a robust recyclable plastic tub, reducing shipping costs. With biologically friendly S-Chelate technology, application rates are remarkably low – down to a quarter of competing products – so less product is used.
The chelated nutrients in S-Chelate 12 Star are the same as in the Soil Association Approved Cultiv-O range. They are biologically friendly and do not build up in the environment. Plants, soil microbes, worms, fish, bees, butterflies all benefited by using S-Chelates.

General Notes:
- Each tub of S-Chelate 12 Star contains a 5ml scoop. This should be filled but not heaped.
- An average watering can holds 4.5 litres which is equivalent to 1 gallon.
- Apply to the soil or growing medium
- S-Chelate 12 Star is designed to be soluble and will readily dissolve and mix in the watering can when pressure filled (direct from the tap or via a hosepipe) with water which will agitate the solution. If filling from a water butt, mix well
- The lid should be firmly replaced immediately after use and the tub stored in a cool, dry place; ideally under 20ºC.
Beds & Borders
Use during the growing season – March to September. Add 2 scoops per 4.5 litres and apply to the soil every 1 to 3 weeks depending on maturity of the plants and desired rate of growth.
e="font-weight: 400;">Can be used as a pre or post season boost by applying to the soil as a powder at a rate of 2 scoops per square metre. Since this is a very small amount, you will find it easier to spread if mixed with horticultural sand.
Pots, Containers & Hanging Baskets
Add 2 scoops per 4.5 litres and apply to the soil every 1 to 3 weeks depending on maturity of the plants and desired rate of growth.
Grow-Bags, Vegetable & Fruit Planters
As a general rule Grow-Bags etc. will contain enough nutrients for 4 to 6 weeks following planting. After this, feed weekly at 2 scoops per 4.5 litres or continually feed as described below.
Continual Feed Systems (Fertigation)

Feed as required depending on the growing medium etc. Once flowering and fruit formation has begun increase feeding to weekly with full strength (2 scoops per 4.5 litres) solution.</p>
Houseplants
S-Chelate 12 Star is especially beneficial for all house plants as the growing medium becomes depleted of trace
nutrients as well as the macro-nutrients (NPK). Mix at half a scoop (2.5ml) per litre of water.
Feed every three weeks out of season increasing to weekly when established plants are in full growth. S-Chelate 12 Star will encourage flowering and produce spectacular cactus flowers.
